Ollywood Producer Tutu Nayak Faces Accusations of Assaulting Female Journalist; Police Investigate

Bhubaneswar, 03/11/2023- Ollywood film producer Sanjay Nayak, known as Tutu Nayak, is in hot water following allegations of assaulting a female journalist. The incident occurred at a film hall where the journalist was covering an event. A police complaint has been lodged, and an investigation is underway.

According to the journalist’s complaint filed at Khavel Nagar Police Station, Tutu Nayak allegedly slapped her and used offensive language while she was at the film hall to report on the release of an Odia film. She stated, “Today I came to a film hall to cover the release of an Odia film. I was at the entrance to get interviews with the artists. He (Tutu Nayak) was passing through the entrance. If I was standing in his way, he could have asked me to move. Instead, he slapped me from behind and made my belongings fall to the ground. Instead of apologizing, he left the scene with a smile. He should have communicated with me. His actions deeply hurt me, and I demand action against him.”

In response to the allegations, Tutu Nayak stated, “The allegation is false. I was in a hurry to go to Maharaja Film Hall. As she was standing in the middle of the gate, I gently patted her back to request space. She is like my younger sister. I did not harm her. If I unintentionally hurt her, I apologize for that.”

Prominent actor Bobby Mishra commented on the incident, saying, “Journalists are the fourth pillar of Democracy. They deserve respect. Misbehavior towards a journalist is unacceptable, and strong action should be taken against the person responsible.”

The police have initiated an investigation based on the filed complaint, and the incident continues to generate public attention and debate within the Ollywood industry.
