Upcoming State Elections: India’s Political Battlegrounds Revealed
The Election Commission of India is set to unveil the election schedule for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram on Monday. The announcement is scheduled for a press conference at 12 noon.
Political parties in these states are actively preparing for what promises to be a highly competitive election season. The Congress party has its sights on regaining power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, as well as securing a victory in Madhya Pradesh.
Additionally, the Congress is eyeing the state of Telangana, which has been under the rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), led by K. Chandrasekhar Rao, for the past decade. Meanwhile, the BJP is making efforts to retain power in Madhya Pradesh and is also aspiring to return to power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
