Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm birthday wishes to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as he turned 77. In response, Chief Minister Patnaik thanked the Prime Minister for the greetings. However, due to the recent loss of his elder sister Gita Mehta, Patnaik chose not to celebrate his birthday this year, and he requested well-wishers not to visit his official residence, ‘Naveen Niwas.’ Naveen Patnaik, who has served as the Chief Minister of Odisha for five consecutive terms, holds the distinction of being the second longest-serving chief minister in the country, after Pawan Chamling of Sikkim.
