Odia Athlete Kishore Jena Secures Silver and Paris 2024 Olympic Spot at Asian Games

Bhubaneswar: Kishore Jena, a talented Odia athlete, made history at the Asian Games in Hangzhou by securing a silver medal in Men’s Javelin throw. Hailing from Kothasahi in Puri district, Jena achieved this remarkable feat with a personal best throw of 87.54 meters.

In the men’s javelin throw final in Hangzhou, Kishore Jena represented India alongside Neeraj Chopra, who claimed the gold medal with an outstanding throw of 88.88 meters.

Kishore Jena’s silver medal not only marked a significant achievement but also guaranteed his spot in the Paris Olympics 2024, thanks to his exceptional performance at the Asian Games. During the final event, the young Odia athlete impressed everyone with a throw of 86.77 meters on his third attempt, surpassing the Olympic qualification mark set at 85.50 meters.
