Tragic Elephant Attack Claims Life of Farmer Guarding Paddy Crop in Odisha’s Ganjam

A tragic incident occurred in Odisha’s Ganjam district, where a farmer, identified as Tuna Gauda, lost his life as he bravely guarded his paddy crop against an elephant attack. This unfortunate event took place on a Thursday night at Gunduribadi village in the Mujagad range, located in the north Ghumsur forest area. The area had been under siege by a herd of 17 elephants, causing distress among the local residents.
The tension in the village escalated following the farmer’s tragic death due to the elephant attack. In response to the situation, senior forest department officials have arrived in the village to initiate an investigation into the incident.
