Tragic Discovery in Rourkela: Assistant Collector’s Body Found in Pond
In Rourkela, a 35-year-old woman named Sushmita Minz, who served as an Assistant Collector, was discovered deceased in a pond on a Tuesday. Originally hailing from the Ramabahal region in Rajgangpur, Minz had gone missing on September 15. Her brother reported her disappearance to the police. On September 17, she was located at a hotel but declined to accompany her mother and brother.
At approximately 3:15 pm that Tuesday, a park security guard spotted her body floating in the pond and promptly notified the Plantsite police. Fire Services personnel arrived at the scene and retrieved her body from the pond. Her sandals and personal belongings, contained in a plastic bag, were discovered on the steps leading to the water body.
An investigation has been initiated by the police, who are examining CCTV footage to determine the circumstances surrounding Minz’s presence at the park.
