25 Lakh Women to Receive Aid Soon
In the coming days, an additional 25 lakh women are set to receive financial assistance under the Subhadra Scheme. Gradually, a total of 1 crore women will benefit from this program, confirmed Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. The scheme, which has already received 92 lakh applications, is expected to hit 1 crore applications within the next week.
Financial Support Ensured for 1 Crore Women
Deputy Chief Minister Prabhati Parida highlighted that the government is committed to ensuring that financial support is provided to all the eligible women. She added that e-KYC verification is causing some delays, but the first installment will be distributed to all beneficiaries by March 8. The second installment will be given on Women’s Day in a single payment, ensuring no one is left out.
Review Meeting and Progress
A recent review meeting revealed that the first installment has already been distributed to 25 lakh 11 thousand women. Although the e-KYC process takes some time, the Deputy Chief Minister reassured that all eligible women will receive their funds in due course.
Prime Minister’s Visit to Odisha
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Odisha on his birthday, he handed over the first installment to 25 lakh 11 thousand beneficiaries of the Subhadra Scheme. The total expenditure for this was Rs. 1,250 crore. More than 1 crore women in Odisha are expected to benefit from this scheme. Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of the scheme in empowering women, while Chief Minister Majhi reiterated his election promise to make women self-reliant.
This scheme is a significant step toward supporting women in Odisha and ensuring their economic independence.
