Bhubaneswar: As the monsoon session commences today at the Odisha Legislative Assembly, a comprehensive three-tier security plan has been implemented, involving over 1,000 security personnel, including 125 police officers. This session holds significant importance as it will see the presentation of the supplementary budget.
The security arrangement covers the internal, campus, and peripheral areas of the Assembly. Notably, Pramila Malik, the first woman Speaker of Odisha, will be sworn in today to preside over the session.
On Thursday, DG Police Sunil Bansal conducted a thorough review of the security preparations, with Twin City Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarsi, ADG (law and order) Sanjay Kumar, and Director Intelligence Sanjeeb Panda providing detailed briefings on the security measures in place both inside and around the Assembly.
