Odisha Chief Minister Launches Statewide Cyber Safety Campaign to Combat Cybercrime

On September 30, 2023, in Bhubaneswar, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a State Level Cyber Safety Campaign at Kalinga Stadium. This initiative involves deploying 34 Cyber Safety Raths to various schools, colleges, and panchayats across the state to raise awareness about cyber safety.

In recent years, cybercrime has been a growing concern both nationally and within the state of Odisha. Recognizing the importance of awareness and caution in preventing cybercrimes, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik emphasized the need for vigilance.

The launch event was attended by Minister of State for Home Tusarkanti Behera, Minister Ashok Panda, Bhubaneswar MLAs Anant Narayan Jena and Sushant Raut, Mayor Sulochana Das, Chief Secretary PK Jena, DGP Sunil Kumar Bansal, and senior officials.

During the campaign, the Cyber Safety Awareness Rath will be welcomed by district administrations, and awareness programs will be conducted in at least two educational institutions daily. Additionally, awareness programs will take place in busy areas within blocks and police station jurisdictions. Students in schools and colleges will participate in quiz competitions.

Furthermore, mini marathons are scheduled in different cities on the morning of October 8, and an evening walk program on the 14th will aim to sensitize senior citizens. The valedictory ceremony is planned for the 15th, with the presence of Padma awardees, freedom fighters, and district administration officials.

This comprehensive campaign involves the participation and support of Panchayat representatives, Mission Shakti members, officials from the School and Mass Education Department, Higher Education Department, Panchayat Raj, and Information and Public Relations Department.
