Odisha Chief Minister Announces Rs 1.5 Crore Award for Asian Games 2023 Javelin Star Kishore Jena

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced a generous cash prize of Rs 1.5 crore for Kishore Kumar Jena, the talented javelin thrower hailing from the state. Kishore clinched a silver medal at the ongoing Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China, where he showcased his prowess with a personal best throw of 87.54 meters. Furthermore, his outstanding performance has secured him a spot in the Paris Olympics 2024.

In a statement, Chief Minister Patnaik commended Kishore’s remarkable achievements, applauding his unwavering dedication and perseverance. His family joyfully distributed sweets to the villagers, who joined in commemorating this momentous achievement. Kishore’s mother, reflecting on his dedication, shared that she had not seen her son for the past two years due to his rigorous training regimen.
