Odisha Celebrates World Tourism Day 2023 with ‘Kalinga Rides’ Superbike Rally and More

Bhubaneswar: On World Tourism Day 2023, the Odisha Tourism Department and Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) Ltd celebrated the event. They marked the occasion by hosting the annual Superbike Rally called ‘Kalinga Rides,’ starting from Hotel Sandy’s Tower in Bhubaneswar and ending at the Silver City Boat Club in Cuttack. Tourism Minister Aswini Kumar Patra inaugurated the rally, with over 150 Super Riders participating under the ‘Odisha Super Riders’ banner.

During the event, Minister Patra encouraged collaboration among stakeholders, including entrepreneurs and local communities, to promote sustainable tourism in Odisha. He emphasized that Odisha is not only known for its natural beauty but also for the authenticity of its tourism experiences. The goal is to make Odisha a world-class destination.

The Superbike Rally covered a 30 km route from Bhubaneswar to Cuttack via Trisulia, concluding at the Silver City Boat Club in Cuttack, where a special event celebrated the spirit of the Super Riders. The event included the recognition of members from the Odisha Super Riders Community who have explored various corners of Odisha, from its picturesque coasts to lush hinterlands, contributing to promoting the state’s beauty and diversity worldwide. Additionally, winners of the 2023 Bloggers Contest organized by Odisha Tourism were honored.

Several dignitaries attended the event, including Police Commissioner Saumyendra Priyadarshi, BMC Commissioner Vijay Amruta Kulange, Commandant CISF Alok Joshi, and OTDC Chairman Dr. Lenin Mohanty.

To enhance the celebration, a 6-day Food Festival jointly organized by the Department of Tourism and Cuttack Municipal Corporation was inaugurated at the Silver City Boat Club, Cuttack, by Mayor Subhash Singh.
