National Postal Day is being celebrated throughout India on Tuesday, as an extension of World Post Day. To mark this occasion, the Postal Department has organized a range of programs across the state of Odisha. These programs aim to raise awareness about the various essential services offered by the department.
It’s noteworthy that the Universal Postal Union has been observing World Post Day on October 9th since 1874. However, National Postal Day is specifically observed in India on October 10th every year. Additionally, as part of this special day, the Rayagada Postal Division has planned a postal ticket exhibition scheduled for November 18th to 19th. The exhibition, named ‘RayaPex,’ has unveiled its rulebook today and will feature rare postal tickets from India and abroad.
It’s a moment of pride that 31 Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra services have been launched in Odisha. These specialized counters will provide assistance to MSMEs and small artisans. On October 13th, we will also celebrate ‘Antodaya Dibas,’ with a focus on empowering underprivileged women who lack access to financial services,” said Suchismita Swain, the Chief Post Master General of Odisha.
“Rayagada Postal Division was established in 2019, and it has been selected to host the postal ticket exhibition in 2023,” added Minaketan Pradhan, the Superintendent of Rayagada Postal Division.
