Minister Sudam Marndi Assumes Additional Role in Revenue & Disaster Management Department
Bhubaneswar: Sudam Marndi, the Minister of School & Mass Education, has been assigned the additional responsibility of the Revenue & Disaster Management Department following the resignation of senior BJD MLA Pramila Mallik. Mallik stepped down from her position after being nominated as the BJD candidate for the Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
This is not the first time Marndi has held this department; he previously managed it. Marndi, a prominent figure in Mayurbhanj politics, began his career with the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and has served in various political roles, including as a Lok Sabha member. He later joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD), serving as an Assembly member and minister.
Although he was temporarily removed from the Cabinet last year, Marndi has now been reinstated as a Cabinet Minister overseeing the School and Mass Education Department.
