Former Odisha DGP Sarat Chandra Mishra Passes Away at 88

Former Odisha DGP, Sarat Chandra Mishra, passed away on Tuesday morning at a city hospital in Bhubaneswar at the age of 88, according to his brother, Bipin Bihari Mishra. Sarat Mishra had been battling dengue and receiving treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar for the past few days.

A member of the Indian Police Service (IPS) since 1959, Sarat Mishra served as the DGP of Odisha from 1991 to 1992. He also had a significant tenure in the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) during his career. After retiring from his distinguished service, he dedicated his time to the DAV Movement and pursued writing. He was not only an exceptional police officer but also a wise thinker and a renowned writer.

His passing was met with condolences from numerous prominent individuals, including his former colleagues in the Odisha Police force.
