The fire, suspected to be caused by a short circuit, led to significant property damage. Locals noticed smoke emanating from the shop, located on the first floor of a market complex, and promptly alerted the fire department. The conflagration was so severe that four fire-fighting units were mobilized to combat the flames, ultimately bringing the situation under control after an arduous four-hour effort on Thursday morning.
Shop owner Vikash Sharma recounted the night, explaining that he had closed the shop at 10 pm, only to receive a distressing call at approximately 3 am. Rushing to the scene, he was met with the sight of smoke billowing from his shop. Upon opening the shutter, he discovered the fire within. While a short circuit is suspected as the potential cause, a precise determination of the fire’s origin remains under investigation, as stated by the fire officer. The blaze resulted in the loss of garments valued at over Rs 1 crore.
