Unidentified individuals carried out a bold daylight robbery by looting a State Bank of India ATM located near Gopinath Temple in the Remuna area of Odisha’s Balasore district. The ATM was situated just 30 meters away from the local police outpost.
The incident occurred between 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon. The miscreants utilized gas cutters to forcibly access the ATM, causing significant damage, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The discovery of the damaged ATM was made by local residents on Sunday morning, who promptly reported it to the police. A team of law enforcement officers quickly arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage to gather more information.
While it is believed that the stolen cash amounted to approximately Rs 18.36 lakh, the exact sum is yet to be confirmed.
