Bollywood actor Swara Bhaskar, surprised everyone last month as she suddenly tied the knot in a court marriage with politician-activist Fahad Ahmad.
Now, the two are gearing up for a traditional wedding ceremony in Delhi, with an extravagant wedding invitation.
The card making rounds on the internet is designed by artist Prateeq and has an illustration by Anupam Arunachalam, revealing that the festivities will take place in March in the presence of family and friends in Delhi.
Taking it to their Instagram handle, Prateeq, and Anupam wrote shared a series of pictures of Swara Bhaskar’s wedding card and added the caption, “Swara and Fahad wanted the invite to capture how they met and fell for each other during a citizen protest, their memories of Mumbai and Marine Drive, their abiding love for the movies, and of course, for their beautiful cat, Ghalib.”
According to a post by India Love Project, the invitation card also included a personalized message from the newlywed couple which stated, “Sometimes you search far and wide for something that was right next to you all along. We were looking for love, but found friendship first.”
The wedding celebrations will be a two-day affair that kickstarts on March 11, after Holi, and the wedding will be on March 15-16. It will be a traditional-style wedding and will take place at Swara Bhaskar’s maternal grandmother’s house. From sangeet to mehendi, all the pre-wedding festivities will take place according to Hindu traditions.
