In a major development in software engineer Sweta Utkal Kumari’s death case, the call detail record revealed that Sweta had made 15 phone calls to her boyfriend Soumyajit Mahapatra, an hour before she allegedly ended her life in her apartment.
She had made the phone calls at around 1:30 am but Soumyajit had not picked up her calls.
Yesterday, the audio call between the victim and her boyfriend went viral on social media platforms. In the purported audio, the accused is heard repeatedly using filthy language against Sweta. In fact, the quarrel was based on a few phone calls made by the girl to Soumyajit’s parents earlier.
Meanwhile, Sweta’s mother alleged, “Soumyajit Mohapatra ruined the life of my daughter. I request the state government to order a probe and take stringent action against Soumyajit”.
