The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch today arrested Ardhendu Das, the editor of a Bhubaneswar based private news channel for financial fraud.
Das was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by Gangandeep Singh of Delhi-based Solution Broadcaster Proprietor. Singh has alleged that Das of not paying back Rs 92.47 lakh to the businessman, who had supplied equipment for the television channel.
Das was arrested from Odagaon in Nayagarh district at around 3 am on Thursday. Das, however, accused the state government of trying to muzzle his voice by framing him in the false case.
