June 20: Several parts of Odisha are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall in the next 24 hours, informed the regional met centre, Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
It said light to moderate rain coupled with thundershower is likely to affect some parts of the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Balangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur.
People are advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike, it said.
The meteorological department warned of heavy rains in 12 districts on June 23, 10 districts on June 24, and 9 districts on June 25.
It is pertinent to mention that the Meteorological Department has informed that heavy rains are expected in the state for the next five days.
