Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday approved a budget of Rs 42 crore for development of Maa Sarala Temple at Jhankad in Jagatsinghpur district.
The development of the shrine will be taken up under 5T Initiative’s Integrated Development of Heritage, Monuments and Tourist Destination programme. The project will be completed within a year.
As per the plan, the sub temples in the premises will be developed along with development of the pond. Besides, the construction of the heritage wall will be done along with the construction of the east-west north and south gates.
Besides, there will be a police control room, cloak room, prasad distribution system, drinking water facilities. The 72 shop owners who will be displaced due to the beatification of the temple will be provided shops.
