Special program from Raigad district administration to prevent child marriage and empower teens through efforts.
Raigad-09/ 05- (Dhaneshwar Raut) – Raigad district, under the direct supervision of District Magistrate Shri Saroj Kumar Mishra, in collaboration with Raigad District Administration, District Social Welfare Department, District Child Protection Unit, UNICEF and AxonAid, to prevent child marriages in the district. And special efforts have been made through the ongoing efforts to protect adolescents
Through the program, all Anganwadi Centers will include all adolescents between the ages of 10 and 18, including nutrition, anemia, lifestyle, child protection, child marriage, gender discrimination, gender-based violence, sexual health, financial literacy, education and skills development. The aim is to raise awareness, and to encourage young people who have dropped out of school or come home to school to take action.
It has been revealed that a draft plan has been drawn up at the district level to make the district a child-friendly district. Based on the agenda, the district administration, the district social welfare department, the district education department and the district child protection unit have organized awareness programs for adolescents, adolescents, children, women self-help groups, panchayat representatives and heads of caste societies at various times. Under the direct supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Yajnaseni Behera, District Child Protection Officer Shri Ramesh Chandra Nayak, District Child Welfare Project Officers and Child Marriage Prohibition Officers and Supervisors under the direct supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Yajnaseni Behera to ensure the smooth running of the program. At the district level, ICDS Program Officer Kamakshi Manjari Padhi and AxonAd’s Child Marriage District Adviser Ratneshwar Sahu presided over the function.
