On the occasion of Farmers’ Day, the Hon’ble Minister, Member of Parliament and the District Magistrate agreed.
Raigad-03 / 05- (Dhaneshwar Raut) – Agriculture and Tribal Welfare Minister Jagannath Sarka has plowed the land on the occasion of Akshay III, an agricultural-based festival.
District level Farmers’ Day has been observed in Birnarayanpur village under Kotapeta village panchayat of Rayagada constituency. A number of dignitaries, including Tribal Welfare Minister Jagannath Sarka, Rajya Sabha MP N. Vaskar Rao, District Magistrate Saroj Kumar Mishra and Zilla Parishad member Sandhyarani Pulaka, attended the function, which was organized in favor of the district agriculture department. Farmers’ Day has been celebrated with great pomp and circumstance this year, as the two-year-old has not been able to do so collectively.
After the land was worshiped, Minister Sarka turned his back on the plow. He later inaugurated an agricultural chariot sponsored by the district agriculture department and attended the district-level Farmers’ Day program. In his speech, Sarka said that the state government is always thinking of new schemes for the development of the farmers and that Kalia Yojana for the empowerment of the farmers will be distributed on the occasion of Akshay III. Other guests, including Rajya Sabha MP N. Vaskar Rao and District Magistrate Saroj Kumar Mishra, also shared their views on government assistance and schemes for agriculture and farmers’ upliftment. Minister Sarka wished this year a prosperous year for agriculture and farmers, while the farmers are also very excited about Farmers ’Day. The function was attended by District Chief Agriculture Officer Baldev Mohapatra, Deputy Director of Horticulture Patitapavan Samantara, Water Dividend Mission Project Director Dayanidhi Bagh, CDVO, DIPRO Basant Kumar Pradhan, Zilla Parishad members. Hundreds of villagers, including Dev Kumar Gamang, and other villagers, including Birnarayanpur, attended.
