Kamakshnagar SDJM sentenced to life in prison for abducting and killing a 4-year-old child.

Anchor – On March 15, 2018, Kamakshnagar SDJM court sentenced Sahu alias Bapuna to life imprisonment for allegedly abducting and later brutally killing a 7-year-old child in Muktapashi village under Kamakshanagar police station in Dhenkanal district.
Praveen was the first to abduct Praveen, a 4-year-old son of his grandfather Pradeep Kumar Sahu of Muktapashi village. He later demanded money with a threatening message on his mobile phone. He was brutally beheaded and stuffed in a bag, leaving his house in a paddy field. Liajan Khan, the then police officer in charge of Kamakshanagar police station, was able to investigate and apprehend the accused.
Most surprisingly, the accused killed his grandfather’s son for money. Additional District Magistrate George Satyanarayana Patra convicted the accused under Section 37/302 and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Failure to pay the fine will result in up to one year in prison.
