A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood around May 4, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Tuesday.
Under its influence, a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over the same region around May 6. It is likely become more marked during subsequent 24 hours, it added.
It is very likely to cause heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Nicobar Islands on May 4 and 5 and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over Andaman Islands on May 6 and 7.
Squally wind (speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) very likely to prevail over South Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal on May 4 and 5
Similarly, squally wind (speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph) likely to prevail over Andaman Sea & adjoining Southeast and Eastcentral Bay of Bengal on May 6.
Squally wind (speed reaching 60-70 kmph gusting to 80 kmph) over Eastcentral BoB & adjoining north Andaman Sea May 7.
