Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has said BJD’s support in the next presidential election due in July will be based on selection of candidate.
“Let us see who the candidate is. That is most important. We have not always supported the NDA candidate on presidential polls,” the Chief Minister said on Saturday.
He said it’s still early days to decide on the presidential election.
“It’s still early days. We will look into it when the matter comes up,” he told NDTV.
He, however, said that his party prefers its independence from any political formation.
In the 2017 Presidential polls, the Biju Janata Dal had supported NDA candidate Ram Nath Kovind.
