The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached assets worth Rs 29.83 lakh of former IFS officer Abhay Kant Pathak under PMLA for possessing assets disproportionate to his known source of income.
The ED in December had conducted raid at the residence of Pathak in Vivekananda Marg of Bhubaneswar. The ED had also questioned him regarding the money laundering cases lodged against him. Besides, he was questioned regarding his business and the possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Earlier, the Odisha vigilance sleuths arrested Pathak and his son Akash Kumar Pathak for having assets worth crores disproportionate to their known sources of income. Vigilance officials revealed that Pathak had assets more than 435 percent of his known sources of income.
