The district level farmers’ fair is being held in the Gunapur area of the Agricultural Science Center.
Rayagada-26 / 04- (Dhaneshwar Raut) – A district level farmers ‘fair and exhibition has been organized in the Gunapur area in collaboration with Rayagada and Atma Rayagada, the Agricultural Science Center for Agriculture and Farmers’ Development.
At the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the fair focused on “Kisan Partnership – Priority Promotion”. The chief guest at the fair was Raghunath Gamang, MLA of Gunapur, who spoke on natural agriculture and how farmers can benefit from various schemes by coordinating with various departments. As the guest of honor, Gunapur Panchayat Samiti Chairman Jhili Shabar and Deputy Chairman Sudarshan Shabar joined in and explained about improved farming methods and organic farming.
Suman Singh Patnaik (Deputy Project Director, Atma, Rayagada), Dr. Ramrao Pal (Sub-Divisional Veterinary Officer), Vishnu Prasad Sahu (A, D, O, Gunapur), Krishna Prasad Beberta (Distinguished Farmer) on organic farming and natural agriculture He also spoke in support of the US Alliance, but said that maintaining some independence was important. The fair was attended by more than 300 farmers, women farmers and members of self-help groups from different villages in Rayagada district.
On this occasion, an agricultural exhibition stall was set up in the Gunapur area of the Agricultural Science Center. Farmers walked around the stall. The Minister of Agriculture and Kisan Welfare of the Central Government watched the live broadcast of the discussion on natural agricultural methods through the project. Binod Chandra Behera, a scientist at the Center for Agricultural Sciences, delivered the welcome address. Scientists Amit Jyoti Majhi, Himadri Bagh, Sumitra Mohanty, Swarna Sarika Behera, Gitanjali Das and Jagannath assisted in the management of the main program.
The farmers, who have received a lot of information about organic farming, have proposed to hold such a farmers’ fair in the coming days.
