Senior Congress leader and Jatani MLA, Suresh Routray in his reaction to the show-cause notice issued to him by Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), said that OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik and Jaydev Jena should apologise first as they too have made similar statements in the past.
“I have not committed any blunder. OPCC president himself and senior leader Jaydev Jena have spoken in similar vein earlier. They should first apologise for their statements,” Routray said.
“Niranjan Patnaik, Jaydev Jena had also said the same thing on OPCC chief. There’s no disciplinary panel for Tara Prasad Bahinipati and Santosh Saluja for demanding the resignation of party leaders. I have been in politics for the last 50 years, why so much drama over a slip of tongue,” Routray further said.
Meanwhile, OPCC president, Niranjan Patnaik has refuted all the allegations made by Routray and said that the final decision over the issue will be taken by the disciplinary panel of the All India Congress Committee (AICC).
Notably, OPCC president, Niranjan Patnaik on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to Suresh Routray for his derogatory statement, alleging that the State’s Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik takes the final call on the appointment of OPCC president.
