Heat wave conditions have gripped Odisha as mercury surpassed/ touched 40°C mark at 16 places of the state, today.
Baripada was the hottest place of the day with a maximum recorded temperature of 43.4 degree Celsius.
Other places where maximum temperature crossed/ touched 40°C were Angul (42.9), Jharsuguda (42.7), Keonjhar (40.3), Sambalpur (41.8), Sundargarh (42.0), Hirakud (40.6), Talcher (41.6), Bhawanipatna (40.8), Balangir (43), Titlagarh (41.8), Malkangiri (40), Sonepur (43.2), Boudh (42.5), Paralakhemundi (41) and Bhadrak (40).
