The Judicial Magistrate of First Class (JMFC) court here in Salipur granted the police to take the accused on a three-day remand for further interrogation over his alleged involvement in the sensational Mahanga quintuple murder case.

The accused Siba Sahu had surrendered before the Balichandrapur police in Jajpur.

Following this, the police had appealed to the court seeking his remand for interrogation. The police had demanded five-day remand of the accused, however, the court granted remand of three days.

The investigating team will recreate the crime scene during the remand period.

Notably, Siba had allegedly killed five members of his elder brother’s family following a family feud at Kusupur village under Mahanga police station in Cuttack district on Tuesday. He later surrendered before Balichandrapur police in Jajpur.
