The police will seek to take Siba Sahu, the accused in the sensational Mahanga quintuple murder, on remand for three days, informed Salipur SDPO Bimal Prasad Barik.

The investigating team will recreate the crime scene during the remand period.

A special team of Mahila police has also interrogated Siba’s wife. Also, investigations are underway to ascertain whether the victims were drugged or poisoned before the attack or not.

Amid tight security, the accused was brought to Community Healthcare Centre (CHC) for medical examination today after which he was taken back to Mahanga police station.

Notably, Siba had allegedly killed five members of his elder brother’s family following a family feud at Kusupur village under Mahanga police station in Cuttack district on Tuesday. He later surrendered before Balichandrapur police in Jajpur.
