12 places in Odisha record temperature above 40°C , Jharsuguda hottest with 44°C

As many as 12 stations in Odisha recorded maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius and above on Wednesday.

While Jharsuguda was the hottest place with maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius, Sonepur was the second hottest place with maximum temperature of 43.9 degree Celsius. The other places which recorded maximum temperature of 40 degree Celsius and more were Angul, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Hirakud, Talcher, Bhawanipatna, Balangir, Titlagarh, Boudh and Paralakhemundi.

“There will be no large change in maximum temperature (day temperature) during next 3-4 days over the districts of Odisha. Maximum temperature is likely be more than 40 degree Celsius and likely to be above normal by 2 to 4°C at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha during next 2 days. It is advised to take precautionary measure for hot weather condition while going outside during midday 12-3 PM,” said an official.
