Workers have been working in MANAREGA for six months and waiting for wages. The administration is running out of money.

Raigad-03 / 04- (Dhaneshwar Raut) – MNREGA is getting false promises and deceptions in the name of work. The Mahatma Gandhi Guaranteed Employment Scheme has been launched by the Central Government to provide jobs for the poor and support their families. The plan calls for 100 days of work to be provided to each family, but in the case of Podapai village in Jhordi panchayat under the Kolnara block of Rayagada district, there is a case of unpaid wages. The village is home to about 50 tribal families. But for some as a baby gets older, he or she will outgrow this. Due to the lack of good roads in the village, the villagers had to travel to the panchayat office about five kilometers away from the panchayat office for various jobs, including rice, kerosene, old age allowances and widows’ allowances. According to the Public Safety Board, the road from Kiseri Chowk to Podapai village has been cut off in 2021-22. However, the women of the village complained that they had not been paid for about eight months. While the road was built at a cost of Rs 4 lakh, the plaque is also beautifully made and the plaque clearly states that the daily wage of Rs 215 is wage. But six months later, Podapai village workers involved in the operation complained that they had not been paid. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. Lingaraj Tadingi, the panchayat executive officer, was contacted but could not be reached for comment. Local women have warned that if the wages are not paid immediately, they will go to the door of the district administration and go to the labor office. The BDO of Tapas Bhoi was not immediately available for comment.
