Demands to set up dialysis unit at district's main hospital
A demand letter has been issued by the Change Group today cordoning off the local CDMO office to launch dialysis services at the Subarnapur District General Hospital. The district has thousands of kidney patients, and hundreds of people need dialysis every day. However, both the central and state governments have developed the infrastructure to provide this service to each district main hospital and provided the necessary equipment and trained doctors. The Subarnapur District General Hospital also has a dialysis machine, while there are trained doctors.Despite repeated calls from locals and various voluntary organizations at various times, the issue has not been resolved, with many leaders, led by senior lawyer Baldev Prasad Bedbak, on behalf of the voluntary organization ‘Change’ today. The agitation was accompanied by protests.
