Anima polled 2257 votes while her nearest rival Shantilata received 181 votes.Opposition groups called for a boycott of the assembly, citing "grave wrongdoing and serious misconduct." Anima has been the chairperson of the Khajuripada block from 2012 to 20-18 and has done a lot of development work. Now the way is open for Anima to chair again.The committee members directly support Anima. Earlier, Anima was the district president of Bijumahila Morcha and a member of the Rajya Mahila Morcha, which strengthened the organization.
