District administration press conference on preparations for the current three-tier panchayat elections. On Thursday, Additional District Magistrate Basant Kumar Sahu briefed the media on the preparations for the by-elections. Voting will take place in the district in five phases from the 19th to the 27th. The district has a total voter turnout of 7,41,600, of which 2,34,203 are male voters and 2,52,093 are female voters. A total of 3,405 polling staff have been recruited for a total of 2,322 booths in the district. Each of the seven booths will also have a one-on-one sector official. Two polling stations will be set up in each of the 12 sub-divisions in each of the 12 sub-divisions. Only female employees will be hired. This time two days before the polls, on the morning of the 19th, polling staff were scheduled to leave the district magistrate's bus by bus, said Additional District Magistrate Shri Sahu. In the district, one sarpanch and four committee members have been elected unopposed. Of the 2,322 ward members, 1,718 were elected unopposed, while 29 wards had not been nominated.
